Having been born in Germany and enjoying some of those years in the Bavarian Alps, I was duly impressed by the mountains of Montana. A friend of mine had moved with his family to Bozeman, and during my first visit I spent a week backpacking in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. While standing on the Continental Divide looking West at the seemingly endless mountain ranges, I knew that I wanted to live here – as soon as possible. On my way home to the East Coast, I was already researching businesses that I might want to work for in Montana.
Several months later, when I met Daren, Mark, Chris and other members of the Foundant team, I was impressed by the company’s vision and operational style. There was a vibrant atmosphere of people motivated to improve the grant management for a broad array of philanthropic initiatives . I wanted to be a part of that in my role.
In early 2016, my wife Christine, and our two feisty Terriers, joined me as we wrapped up our properties in the East and welcomed our new adventures in the beauty of Montana.
