I was born and raised in Boulder, CO and hauled my multiple bikes and skis out to Montana to study at MSU. Seven years later (sorry Mom and Dad), I finally graduated with a degree in Business, focusing on Information Systems, and I’ve truly established myself here in Bozeman. The outdoor activities and opportunities are unparalleled, and when I’m not at work, you can find me biking, hiking, or skiing somewhere in the mountains.
In my spare time, I coach a local Nordic ski racing team; the kids are the best parts of my week and I get to give back to the ski community that supported me when I raced years ago. Being a part of that community made me realize how much I enjoy helping people. When it came time to start the job hunt, I tried to focus on companies that would fit with my “work hard, play hard” ethic, like most companies found on Outside Magazine’s Best Places to Work list.
When a chance to work at Foundant came along, I knew I had to move quickly. Not only does Foundant offer a great Software as a Service (SaaS) product, but the people and the culture here allow me to do something I actually enjoy while still maintaining my year-round sun-glass tan line! And, to sweeten the deal, I can stay in Bozeman! I’m really looking forward to working with such a talented group of outdoorsy individuals.
I like to tell people that I’m from Bozeman, but the reality is a little more complicated than that. While growing up, I lived in Colorado (twice), Washington (once), Texas (twice), Ohio (once), and finally, Montana. It was really nice living in a variety of places because it exposed me to a lot of the different cultures in America.
After living in Billings for several years, I ended up coming to Bozeman to study Computer Science at Montana State University. After realizing that I didn’t like computer science, I moved into Music Technology, and then eventually into Marketing, which is what I graduated with in 2012.
Right out of school, I was lucky enough to get a job in Bozeman working as an Annuity Sales Consultant, which exposed me to the financial services industry and got me used to talking – and teaching – on the phone all day. I ended up moving into a marketing role after a couple years, and decided it was time for a change of pace. One of my coworkers told me about Foundant, and he recommended that I take a look. When he told me about it, all I knew that it was a technology/software company, which was enough to pique my interest.
Now, I’m enjoying working for a company based around culture, customer service, and transparency. Even early on, it was evident that this was the kind of company I wanted to be a part of. So, in the spirit of never doing anything halfway – I left my job, started at Foundant as a Client Success Manager, and got married.
When I’m not in the office, I get to enjoy the natural wonder and inspiration that is Montana. When I’m at home instead of enjoying the outdoors, you can find me reading, writing, playing with our pets (1 cat and 2 ferrets) and enjoying weekly board game nights with my friends.
