With the New Year on the horizon, most are reminiscing about the year behind, and we at Foundant are no different. This has been a fantastic year for us – not only in business, but in relationships and in our culture as well. We have grown our client base and grown our team, while at the same time keeping ourselves to the standard we founders set out to uphold when Foundant was in its earliest stages.
In the early part of 2014, we held our yearly planning meetings. Here, we set goals for the year, revisited our goals from 2013, and bonded over some team dodgeball. We also held our first You Fly, We Buy of the year in February. This turned out to be so successful; we couldn’t wait for the next one.
In the spring, we hosted a series of successful regional User Groups. And then we were back home to volunteer at the Cancer Support Community of Montana. This is a place that offers education, action, and community to all people impacted by cancer – and we were proud to take part in their outdoor remodeling project by removing the old, to bring in the new. We also held our second successful You Fly, We Buy in May and again looked forward to the next one.
In the summer, a number of the Foundant team was on the road again for conferences, User Groups, and trainings. In July, we were back home for our mid-year planning meetings at my farm in Logan, MT. Here, we revisited and revised the goals we had set in our January meetings. We looked at areas we could improve even more, and made new goals based on these observations. Of course, we rounded it out with some fun team golf and a floating trip down the Gallatin River. Summer ended with our third You Fly, We Buy – which included a Montana rodeo and the Annual Sweet Pea Festival for a few adventuresome clients.
In the fall, we were back at the Cancer Support Community of Montana to plant the new landscaping, and were able to see what our hard work in the spring would look like when it was all said and done. In October, we were named to both the 2014 Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies and the Outside Magazine Best Places to Work 2014 lists – we are very proud to have received both of these honors at the same time. Later in October, members of the Foundant team ventured to the Exponent Philanthropy conference in DC and even broke out a special “Super Hero” booth for Halloween.
In the first week of December we held a very successful food drive (276 pounds!) along with our fellow Inc. 5000 Listers – Energy 1 and Ticket River – for #GivingTuesday; and welcomed our fourth and final You Fly, We Buy group of 2014….again, with remarkable success. And, finally, we finish out 2014 with high hopes for another great year and even more successful Foundant clients.
Happy New Year and thanks for a fantastic 2014!
