Every six months we take the time to step back from our day-to-day jobs to reflect on our results and plan for the future. We just completed our latest mid-year planning session, and I wanted to share some of the results with all of our clients since you’re such an important part of our team.
As we look back on the past 6 months we have a lot to be proud of. We added over 40 new customers and grew our revenue by 50% over the first half of last year. Our 2.1 upgrade to the software added some significant new functionality and fixed many annoying bugs. Importantly, this release went out the door with a high level of quality and caused minimal disruptions for our customers — we know that there were some hiccups and there’s still room for improvement but we made huge strides over our previous couple releases. On the customer service side, we introduced our ongoing training webinars and launched our online Community all while continuing to take great care of our growing customer base. We held our first major client training session in Washington, DC with a full house of energized customers. All-in-all it was a great first half of the year!
Despite our accomplishments we won’t rest on our laurels. We have even higher aspirations for the 2nd half of the year. We plan to add at least 50% more clients and generate at least 50% more revenue in the 2nd half than we did in the first. Our R&D team is dedicated to the release of our new reporting functionality, and we’ll be previewing the tool shortly at several user group and training events. A huge initiative for the entire company is the implementation of the Agile software development methodology. This methodology will allow us to more rapidly deliver new versions of Grant Lifecycle Manager and better align the upgrades with the needs of our clients. We’re making a big commitment to connect with our clients and you’ll see this demonstrated with trainings and/or user group meetings already scheduled for Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, Florida and Missoula in the coming months.
We also managed to take the time to celebrate and have some fun during our mid-year planning session. We invited our families for a great evening of local food and discussion about healthy lifestyles hosted by our friends at Clearwater Healthcare. The team actually took a half-day off (yes, this was even my idea!) to travel to historic Virginia City, MT for a showing of The Brewery Follies and we enjoyed the best ribs around at the Willow Creek Cafe. One of our team members got a little frisky with the cast of the Follies, but we’ve so far held back on giving the pictures to his family! Haha! All in good fun.
We thank you for all that you’ve done to help us get 2011 off to a great start at Foundant and hope that you’ll find this bit of insight into our upcoming plans to be useful.
